Midland Main Line diversions occurred for several weeks over the line from Glendon Jcn to Manton Jcn. Luckily the day I visited was blessed with superb weather. Harringworthe Viaduct is the longest in th UK and if you have never seen it, its well worth a visit but doesnt carry much traffic normally.
60009 Union of South Africa visited March on the 9th December for servicing and turning. The loco was serviced in the March Down sidings and took two bowser loads of water. Turning was accomplished by using the Whitemoor Yard triangle which meant a visit into the yard itself. Pity the weather was awful.
I had a trip to Boston to see the last photable 6M89 Boston to Mountsorrel of the year as the train leaves Boston at !7.00. Despite terrible light I managed a few shots but was too late to see the shunter bring out the stock.
Also saw RHTT 3J42 which reverses at Boston and heads back to Sleaford then onto Peterborough via Spalding.
Welcome to my new Fotopic sight. I shall be slowly but surely uploading both current and archive pics of both railway and buses. I hope you like them.Any comments are most welcome.

About Me
My name is Jim Deane and this is my first attempt at displaying my pics on the web. I lived in Milton Keynes for many years but I have recently moved to March in Cambs., but was born in North London where I acquired my keen interest in London Transport buses and Eastern region steam locos.
My holidays in the 1950's were usually spent in Eastbourne where I also developed a love of those beautiful Southdown liveried buses. How I mourn the passing of those wonderful days.
My main photographic interests are London Transport buses up to the RM and railways old and new , with a penchant for steam.
I shall be gradually updating this sight with new pics from my large collection of slides. Unfortunately I didnt get into photography until about 1980 so I dont have any vintage pics to display. A great regret.
My equipment at the moment is a Canon 40d with Sigma 24-105 f2.8 zoom.
My slides were orinally on Kodachrome 64, a few Ektachrome 200's then all on Fuji Sensia. The best of all the films I used I believe.
